About J.M.
J.M. Vesper writes speculative tales and poetry from their home in Phoenix. A relative newcomer to publishing, their work has found homes in Intrepidus Ink, Not One of Us, Neologism Poetry Journal, Merion West, and elsewhere. Their poetry was recently shortlisted for Chestnut Review's Summer 2025 Issue.
Behind the fiction stands someone who's traveled through various lives: high school English teacher across three states (Utah, New York, Arizona), now settled into Special Collections librarianship. English degrees bookmark their academic journey: Creative Writing (B.A.) and Secondary Teaching (M.A.).
Weekends find them hiking desert trails with their wife and two dogs, losing too many hours to video games, or pressed against the television during football season. Books remain the one constant.
Their first manuscript progresses steadily—a psychological thriller that builds on the distinctive voice developing in their shorter works.
